Marposs designs and builds measuring systems to meet specific end user requirements.
The measuring function changes depending on several considerations. In particular, it depends on the specific production process the user has established, the production rate, capability and quality requirements, as well as manpower requirements. Solutions and techniques to optimize customer specifications range from the application of hand held equipment to more complex gauging cases, where it is necessary to load the part onto a bench gauge wich performs the measuring function, part support and part reference, and can be performed either in a manual or automatic mode.
In high volume production lines, there are gauging applications which require 100 percent part inspection. In these cases the gauge becomes an automatic machine and includes the part handling. In addition to dimensional checks, the gauging machine may include further functions such as good or reject part identification, segregation and marking, part classification, selection of weight classes and other operations associated with dimensional inspection.
